Monica is also a Lecturer in Economics & Tax at the University of Indonesia-Faculty of Economics & Business. Monica's educational background includes being an alumna of the Economics faculty at the University of Indonesia and also an alumna of the Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education in Economic Development as of June 2020. Mushegh Manukyan is an international mediator and arbitrator, currently working with a global organization. Before, he served as a mediator at the D.C. Court of Appeals and the World Bank Group’s Compliance Advisor Ombudsman and focused on encouraging mediation globally, especially in the context of investor-state disputes. He has extensive experience in mediation and arbitration and in representing foreign companies in various complex matters. Most recently, he practiced international dispute resolution at the Washington, D.C. office of a leading international arbitration law firm and was Senior Counsel at a Texas-based high-tech company, managing Russia and CIS, India, the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and Oceania legal matters for more than 10 subsidiaries of the company.
Mushegh was instrumental in establishing Armenia’s mediation system and is the author of Armenia’s first mediation laws. He founded the first private mediation and arbitration center in Armenia and mediated over 500 cases involving 90+ nationalities in Armenia, Massachusetts courts within the Harvard Mediation Program, the D.C. Court of Appeals, and beyond.
Mushegh holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Yerevan State University (Armenia), a Ph.D. in private international law from Russian State Social University (2009) in Moscow, and an LL.M. from Harvard Law School (2016).

Smrithi Mohan is the General Counsel at Awes.me, Inc., d/b/a Awesome, the parent company of SmugMug, Flickr, and This Week In Photo. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, she steers all legal efforts at the company, in addition to providing governance, compliance, as well as strategic operational input. At Awesome, Smrithi is developing the company's very first innovation and intellectual property program. Prior to joining as General Counsel at Awesome, Smrithi was a Managing Attorney at Dun & Bradstreet, Inc., serving as both the Head of Legal and Compliance for Dun & Bradstreet India, and as the Head of the Global Corporate Innovation and Intellectual Property Strategy and Practice at Dun & Bradstreet, Inc., where she built and developed Dun & Bradstreet's first intellectual property program and corporate IP strategy. She has delivered numerous presentations and spoken at national and international conferences covering a range of general legal and intellectual property-related subjects. She has also been featured in both Attorney At Law Magazine and Modern Counsel, and is also recognized as an international Top IP Leader by the IPR Gorilla. Smrithi earned her Juris Doctorate and passed the New York and New Jersey bar exams, beginning her legal career in New Jersey. She later received a Master’s degree in Management from Harvard University in May 2023, achieving the Dean’s List Academic Achievement Award.

Christopher Bowen is an attorney with 19 years of experience, including with the U.S. Department of Justice, two AmLaw 50 law firms, IBM, and a space start-up. He primarily supports his clients' contracts with public sector entities, including Federal, State, and Local. Both as in-house and outside counsel, he has negotiated intellectual property and data privacy clauses with public sector customers as well as suppliers and integrators. He lives in Stony Brook, New York with his wife and two daughters.

I am Acting General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer at Last Energy in Washington, DC. Last Energy is a full-service developer of micro modular nuclear power plants with a goal of transforming the nuclear power industry by dramatically reducing the time and cost of construction. Our mission is to decarbonize global energy production and increase access to clean, affordable power.
Prior to joining Last Energy, I was Senior Counsel and Director of Litigation at IDEMIA, a French-based multinational technology company specializing in identity-related security services, including facial recognition and other biometric products, secure credentialing, and secure payment systems. At IDEMIA I was in charge of litigations, investigations, IP, data privacy, and trade compliance. I also covered contract review and negotiation as well as corporate law matters for the company.
I spent the first 7 years of my practice at two global defense firms followed by 6 years prosecuting securities class actions at Bernstein Litowitz. I then spent over 6 years managing a diverse international cross-border litigation docket, external governmental investigations and internal investigations, subpoenas, and other third-party requests at the New York branch of Credit Agricole, a global financial institution headquartered in France. After practicing in New York City for almost 20 years, I relocated to the Washington, DC area in 2023.

Monique Ferraro, CISSP, CIPP/US, CIPM, FIP, CPCU, is Cyber Counsel at Hartford Steam Boiler Insurance and Inspection Company, where she provides legal and technical expertise in support of Global Cyber Products. Ms. Ferraro's cybersecurity and privacy experience spans more than twenty-five years in digital forensics, e-discovery, information security and privacy. She is also an Adjunct Professor in the Cyber Security and Data Privacy Law Program at Albany Law School and Western Connecticut State University in Cyber Security and the Homeland.
Monique obtained her law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law, her Master’s degree from Northeastern University in Criminal Justice and Bachelor’s from Western Connecticut State University.
She is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a Fellow of Information Privacy, Certified Information Privacy Professional/US (CIPP/US), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).
Monique worked for the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection for nineteen years, serving in several different roles. She was a founding member of the state’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Computer Crimes and Electronic Evidence Lab. She also wrote grants for and coordinated the design of a statewide and later regional criminal intelligence sharing network. She founded the state’s Family Violence Reporting Program and coordinated the sex offender registry. After retiring from state service and before joining HSB, she taught, had a private practice of law and a digital forensics and electronic evidence consulting firm.
She has taught at the undergraduate, graduate and law school level, teaching courses in privacy, cyber law, digital forensics, Criminal Justice, Women’s Studies and law.
She is a frequent speaker and writer on cyber and privacy issues.

Jennifer M. Lorentz is a seasoned legal and regulatory advisor with over a decade of experience guiding Fortune 500 companies through complex legal and regulatory landscapes. As Vice President and Senior Managing Counsel for Regulatory Affairs at Mastercard, she leads global regulatory efforts for crypto and blockchain solutions, as well as cross-border payments and remittances, and commercial payment solutions. Her expertise spans a wide range of areas, including payment services and money transmission, crypto, digital assets and blockchain, financial services, cybersecurity, privacy, data protection. With a deep understanding of the interplay between technology, regulation, and geopolitics, Lorentz helps clients navigate uncertainty and achieve their strategic objectives. She is a sought-after thought leader who actively contributes to the development of sound and balanced regulatory frameworks.


Nishat Ruiter is the General Counsel and Secretary of TED Conferences, where she leads legal strategy across brand protection, privacy, AI risk management, licensing, and compliance. With a deep respect for TED’s mission, she ensures its legal needs are met while preserving its authentic voice. Her work spans corporate governance, partnerships, real estate, TED Talk clearances, and managing TED’s code of conduct policies worldwide.
Nishat is also the creator of Empowering the Next Generation of Lawyers: A New Paradigm for Legal Education, a proposal to modernize legal training by fostering critical skills like empathy, ethical reasoning, and adaptability. With experience spanning 20+ years in both private practice and in-house roles, including at CA Technologies, she brings a strategic perspective to the evolving legal landscape, particularly in navigating AI and emerging technologies.

Michael DeSimone is a Vice President, Corporate Counsel at Prudential Financial, based in Newark, New Jersey. With a decade of experience as an in-house corporate counsel in the insurance industry and seven years of commercial litigation defense experience, he has developed a deep expertise in navigating complex legal landscapes.
At Prudential Financial, Michael supports the group life insurance and long-term care businesses, which includes support for several other areas including associations, underwriting, third party compensation, Group Variable Universal Life, Pru Benefit Funding, and the Office of Servicemen's Group Life Insurance (OSGLI). Before joining Prudential, Michael served as Corporate Counsel at MetLife, where he provided legal guidance to the Long Term Care business unit. Earlier in his career, he was a senior associate at White & Case LLP, focusing on commercial litigation, primary defending generic pharmaceutical manufacturers in various state false claims act cases.

Charles Bowen is founder and principal at Legal Path LLC, providing legal and advisory services in M&A, commercial contracts, GRC (governance risk and compliance), and technology implementation. Charles also is an adjunct professor at Georgia State University, where he teaches at the College of Law on Innovation in the Practice of Law, and at the Robinson College of Business on the Legal and Ethical Environments of Business.
Charles has worked for the past 25 years with Cox Enterprises and the Cox Family Office, where he served as General Counsel, Compliance Officer, and a member of the Audit & Risk Committee. He also serves on the Advisory Board of CoreCLM, a contract automation platform.

Steve Rosenboro serves as Senior Corporate Counsel for Microsoft's Global Financial Services Industry. He advises corporate and regional leaders on strategic transactions and engages with global and regional financial services customers, partners, and regulators on policy and compliance issues. With nearly 30 years of experience in cloud, IoT, AI, Blockchain, innovation development, media, communications, government industry, online automotive, and financial services, Steve brings extensive operational and legal expertise to his role.

Alesya Nasimova, is the Global Head of Privacy, DPO at Brex, spearheading the global privacy strategy, Responsible AI, and product guidance for the leading financial technology firm. As Global DPO and a recognized authority on global privacy and data protection, she has a decade-long track record of in-house legal roles within various fintech startups, effectively scaling legal and business functions for global expansion while ensuring compliance. Her past roles include spearheading privacy and regulatory efforts at renowned companies like Bolt, Fundbox, and serving as the Head of Legal and Compliance at DailyPay. Beyond her professional duties, Ms. Nasimova contributes to the field as an Advisory Board Member of the IAPP Training AI Governance Board, and is an active advocate for innovation and ethics within the tech community.

Hugo Teufel III is Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, and Chief Privacy Officer for Lumen Technologies(formerly
CenturyLink) (NYSE: LUMN), a publicly traded global technology company with approximately $17B in annual
revenue.
Hugo leads a team responsible for Lumen’s global privacy and records management programs, as well as the
provision of cybersecurity legal advice and counsel to the company. In addition, he serves on Lumen’s Data & AI
Steering Committee. Hugo brings more than 20 years of experience, centering on the changing landscape of privacy
and security across a variety of sectors. He previously served in several leadership roles, including as Chief Privacy
Counsel for Raytheon Company and as Chief Privacy Officer at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Hugo also
served as a Judge Advocate in the Army National Guard for over 12 years.
Hugo has a B.A. in Economics with a minor in German from Metropolitan State University of Denver, a J.D. from the
Washington College of Law at American University, and an M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the
U.S. Naval War College. He also holds CIPP/G, CIPP/US and CIPM certifications from the International Association of
Privacy Professionals and Certificates in Privacy Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Strategic AI from the
University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, and AI Strategy from Cornell University. Hugo is a member of the Colorado
bar.

Elaine Drager is part of the Nokia Legal & Compliance community, having originally joined Lucent Technologies, which merged with Alcatel forming Alcatel-Lucent, which was in turn acquired by Nokia.
During the course of her career, she has been responsible for nearly every aspect of intellectual property and antitrust matters in the context of a wide variety of corporate transactions. Elaine is a registered patent attorney who started out at Fish & Neave in New York City and has been involved with clients in technical areas from semiconductors and consumer devices, to software, to optics, to cable and telecommunications technologies. She has a BS Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University and a JD from Duke University School of Law.
In her current role, Elaine supports the legal needs of some Bell Labs Solutions Research, the Technology Leadership Office and Strategic Partners.
In her spare time, Elaine is the mother of 3 young adult daughters, and has mentored, counselled, and provided both solicited and unsolicited advice to dozens of young professionals in engineering and legal fields. She has been a soccer coach, Girl Scout leader, and school volunteer, and serves on the Advisory Boards of Leda Health (a women-founded startup committed to and achieving great good for survivors of sexual assault) and the Gibbons Institute of Law Science & Technology of Seton Hall Law School. In the past, she was also a member of the Intellectual Property Advisory Committee for the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.

Thomas J. Harris III is a dynamic Litigation, Employment & Labor Counsel with strong Chief Human Resources, General Counsel, VP of Safety and Compliance Officer experience. Through pragmatism and collaboration, Thomas is a relationship-oriented team-player with a proven ability to manage organizations through complex, high-exposure domestic and international labor & employment-related issues for large international corporations and high-profile technology companies.
After spending the early part of his career as a Trial Lawyer handling cases ranging from Murder, Employment Discrimination to Section 1983 Police misconduct cases, Thomas served as Corporate Counsel for Comair Airlines where he managed litigation resulting from the tragic Flight 5191 plane crash. Returning to his litigation roots, Thomas currently serves as Global Chief Counsel - Litigation & Risk with Cushman & Wakefield, a global leader in the commercial real estate industry.

In her most current role with Citi is a Senior Vice President, Treasury and Trade Solutions - Global In-Business Product Risk Ewa is responsible for supporting business from the product risk perspective. She holds two law degrees from Warsaw University and Fordham Law school and MBA degree from London Business School, HEC School of Management Paris, Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration, and Warsaw University of Technology. Mauri Aven is a forward-thinking General Counsel with over 20 years of experience at the intersection of law, business, and technology. Currently serving as General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary at a global electronics manufacturer, she oversees legal operations across 19 countries and 15,000 employees, managing a diverse team and an extensive network of external counsel. Mauri has been a pioneer in leveraging legal automation and AI to transform legal practice, enhance regulatory compliance, and drive efficiency and strategic risk management. Her extensive experience spans cross-border M&A, intellectual property, employment law, international tax, and litigation, making her a trusted advisor to CEO's and Boards of Directors.

David Hamilton is Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at Fiserv, the global fintech and payments company, responsible for global privacy, AI, and security issues. In this role he advises on and enhances Fiserv’s Global Privacy and Cybersecurity programs, including relating to incident response process and preparedness. David is Fiserv’s lead AI counsel, sitting on Fiserv’s AI Steering Committee and represents the legal team through Fiserv’s AI Acceleration Hub. David also advises product teams on privacy-by-design in Fiserv’s products and services throughout the organization, and acts as the primary privacy counsel to Clover, Fiserv’s point of sale business. David negotiates the data terms of the company’s most significant relationships, and works closely with Fiserv’s Data Commerce Solutions business on various data initiatives to help further grow the business. David engages in M&A diligence and litigation/regulatory issues, inquiries, and briefings impacting privacy, data and AI. David also advises and develops information on privacy matters to members of the company’s executive leadership team and coordinates closely with the Chief Privacy Officer and his compliance team to develop processes in compliance with numerous global privacy laws. David is a strategic business partner, helping to grow and support the business and counsel appropriate management of risk. He advises teams across the company at all levels.

Franchesca Fowler joined Tris Pharma, a biopharmaceutical company advancing CNS drugs, in 2024 as General Counsel VP and Chief Compliance Officer. With over 15 years of dynamic experience, she most recently served as the Head of Legal and Compliance and Global Associate General Counsel at Demant, a Copenhagen-based global medical device company. At Demant, Fowler led legal and compliance teams for U.S. subsidiaries across retail, manufacturing, and diagnostics sectors, while fostering a culture of compliance and authenticity within the organization.
Before her role at Demant, Franchesca held leadership roles at GE's Life Science, Rutgers University and Merck. She holds a B.S. degree in Finance from Fordham University and a J.D. from Rutgers Law School.

Mitchell Levine is a seasoned labor and employment and litigation attorney who has served in his current position as in-house counsel for eighteen years under two different organizations that merged together: the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey (“Rutgers”). His role as Senior Associate General Counsel at Rutgers includes the day-to-day oversight of litigation and a diverse group of outside counsel ranging from small to large, national law firms. Prior to moving in-house, Mitchell worked in different law firms, initially representing unions and employees, then subsequently representing employers. He has a B.A. in Labor Studies and Employment Relations from Rutgers and a law degree from New York Law School.

osa A. Lee is a counsel specializing in fintech, especially in domestic and cross-border payments and the blockchain technology. She led the set up of cryptocurrency exchange platforms and consumer payments products around the world. Lee currently serves as Counsel at Swift’s New York City office.
